I’m excited to invite you to Wild Threads: Foraging & Cordage Skills, a hands-on workshop where we’ll connect with nature by exploring foraging and crafting cordage. This workshop is open to all ages but is particularly suited to families with children aged 10 and over.
Together, we’ll explore the woodlands around Logie Steading, identifying edible plants and trees that can be foraged throughout the year. I’ll show you how to safely gather these plants, and we’ll also learn how to source and purify water using a natural filter—a crucial survival skill.
The highlight of the session will be creating cordage from plants. I’ll guide you through the process of turning plant fibres into ropes and strings, which you can use for a variety of practical purposes in the wild.
What to Expect:
Tree and plant identification
Foraging for edible plants
Purifying water with a natural filter
Crafting cordage from plants

Tickets are £17.50, with only 12 spots available, so be sure to book early. This workshop is ideal for families and children aged 10 and up. Please come dressed for the outdoors with sturdy footwear.
