Join me for Footprints & Tiny Wonders: Animal Tracking & Invertebrates, an exciting, hands-on workshop that’s perfect for families, especially those with younger children. Together, we’ll explore the fascinating world of Scottish wildlife by looking at animal tracks, signs, and bones, as well as investigating the tiny wonders of the invertebrate world.
We’ll start by delving into animal tracking, exploring the woodland and learning to identify animal footprints, scat (poo), bones, and feeding signs. I'll help you recognise the different signs left behind by animals like deer, foxes, squirrels, and birds. This is a great way to understand the habits and behaviours of animals that live around us, even if we don’t always see them.
Next, we’ll focus on the small but incredibly important world of invertebrates. Using nets, we’ll catch and identify the insects and tiny creatures that play a crucial role in the ecosystem. We’ll talk about their behaviour and their importance in the wider natural world.
