Learn to build a natural shelter and carve with confidence.
In this hands-on session, I’ll teach you the fundamentals of shelter building and whittling. We’ll start by constructing a natural shelter using materials from the land around us. You’ll learn how to choose the right location, gather materials, and build a structure that will keep you dry and warm in the wild.
After that, we’ll get to grips with whittling. Using a bushcraft knife, I’ll show you safe carving techniques and guide you through making a simple wooden object—maybe a spoon, tent peg, or something decorative. This session is great for developing confidence with knife skills in a controlled environment.
This is a practical and rewarding day, perfect for anyone keen to improve their self-reliance in the outdoors.
Suitable for ages 13+. Children must be accompanied by an adult, and under-18s will only use knives under supervision.
